Ski storage: drop off your equipment in store
Don't want to walk around with your pair of skis throughout the resort to get to your accommodation from the bottom of the slopes? What does ski guarding involve?
Ski storage is a very practical service that lets you leave your skis at the store when you're not using them. In short, instead of struggling to carry your full equipment to your hotel or apartment, you can leave it in a secure room provided within the store or in an annex building.
This service is often used to drop off skis or snowboards at the end of the day and collect them the next morning. But you can also leave them for a whole day if you have other plans than riding on the slopes.
Please note: storage and the ski locker are two different services. The ski locker gives you a personal, lockable locker or box, and it is a paid service (price varies depending on the store).
Why is storing your equipment a good idea?
Storing your rented equipment (skis, snowboard, boots, poles, etc.) has only advantages for your winter sports stay:
No more need to carry your heavy, bulky skis to your accommodation after a long day on the ski area.
In the morning, your equipment is already there, ready to use. No detour via your hotel or apartment: you head straight to the slopes! Indeed, the storage service is located inside or near the stores, which are themselves often very close to the lifts and beginner areas, at the foot of the slopes.
Your equipment is kept in a secure place managed by the store team, so there's no worry about the risk of theft or damage.
No more wearing ski boots to go for a drink on a terrace after several hours of skiing: you leave your boots in the storage room and collect your trainers or everyday shoes.
No need to turn your bedroom or chalet into a ski depot: you free up space in your holiday accommodation and avoid getting snow and water everywhere.
How can you use the ski storage service?
For storage, as for lockers, first make sure that the rental store offers this service. You can check this on the store's page on the Ekosport-Rent online rental website, on its Google listing, or by calling the store directly. If the store operates on a reservation basis, we recommend booking your place in the storage room, stating the number of pairs of skis, pairs of boots and/or snowboards concerned.
Most often, this service is free or offered at a more advantageous price than the ski locker.
