Ekosport-Rent Ski Insurance Guarantees

Multi-risk ski insurance protects and reimburses policyholders in case of:

·        theft of rented equipment;

·        accidental breakage of rented equipment;

·        cancellation of the stay before ski collection;

·        interruption of the rental of skis during the stay.

Each guarantee is of course subject to conditions, which you will find in the General Insurance Conditions. Globally, please note the following information:

·        coverage up to a limit of €600 per equipment in case of accidental damage, simple theft or theft with forced entry + deductible between €2 and €100 depending on the equipment concerned;

·        reimbursement limited to €300 per insured person in case of cancellation, without deductible if cancellation at least 48 hours before the start of the rental, and 10% deductible otherwise;

·        reimbursement limited to €300 per insured person in case of interruption during the stay.

Good reasons to add ski insurance to your rental

The multi-risk ski insurance is offered at a daily rate of only €2 per adult and €1.5 per child. It is therefore a coverage that will have very little impact on your budget. However, it can help you avoid significant expenses if you face a claim or if reasons beyond your control force you to cancel or shorten your stay.

Beyond the purely financial aspect, ski insurance also guarantees you more peace of mind during your holidays. You know that in case of a problem, you will be assisted in resolving the claim. And if your skis are broken or stolen, no stress when announcing the news in store: you know that the repair or replacement will be covered.

Steps to subscribe and use ski insurance

Ski insurance can be easily added to your online reservation. In your cart, simply check the “Theft, breakage, and cancellation insurance” box. Each rented equipment and each skier thus benefit from the previously mentioned guarantees.

If you need to make an insurance claim for theft, breakage, cancellation or interruption of stay, here are the steps and conditions to follow:

·        claim declaration by mail to GRITCHEN ASSURANCES – Sinistre Sport 2000 – CS 70139 – 18021 BOURGES CEDEX, or by e-mail to sinistres@gritchen.fr ;

·        declaration must be made within 5 working days after the claim (2 days in case of equipment theft);

·        provision of necessary documents for the study of your file depending on the claim (rental confirmation email, police report, sworn statement of accidental damage, etc.). All required documents are mentioned in the General Insurance Conditions, in the "In case of claim" section.

In this type of situation, the Multiride option is ideal for testing several pieces of equipment at a reduced price.

Multiride: the option to change equipment

The Multiride option is available for any equipment rental of 6 days or more (except for Junior, Teen, and Adult blue skis and Baby skis). It allows you to exchange equipment 1 or 2 times during your stay, at no extra cost. In other words, you pay a "Multiride package" when booking online and can then change your initial equipment for equipment of equal or lower category.

Good to know: the Multiride price depends on each store. Most of the time, it will cost you 15 or 20 € per equipment rented online.

Advantages of choosing the Multiride service

Multiride is, above all, freedom. You are not obliged to only do piste skiing or snowboarding: you can practice several disciplines. This is a particularly interesting option in the following cases:

·        you mainly want to do piste skiing, but you would like to be able to enjoy off-piste sessions if conditions are optimal (freeride or freerando skiing);

·        you are a skier, but you would like to try snowboarding (or vice versa);

·        you want to allow your child to try skiing and snowboarding during the week, so they can choose their discipline;

·        you love freestyle and want suitable skis, but you would also like to enjoy great downhill sessions on the piste;

·        you want to get started with mini skis, while also allowing yourself the possibility of skiing with classic parabolic skis.

In other words, Multiride allows you to have the right equipment at the right time, depending on the discipline you want to practice. And this, without having to multiply bookings and anticipate which equipment to rent for which day. You rent your initial equipment online, and you just have to go to the shop to exchange it for another eligible piece of equipment.

Last advantage: it costs you almost nothing. For a few euros a week and without extra cost at the resort, you can try different equipment.

Adding the Multiride option to your booking

If you select Multiride eligible equipment during your online rental, the option is offered to you as soon as you add it to your cart. If you forgot to add it at this stage, you can always go back by clicking on "Modify" in the "My equipment" category.
