When booking your equipment online with Ekosport-Rent, at some point, a window will appear offering you ski insurance. What exactly is it? What risks are covered? And is it really worth subscribing to? Here is all the essential information about ski insurance and the very simple procedure for adding it to your rental!
As with most optional insurance, the same question arises: why pay extra for something I probably won’t need? But it’s when you really need it that you regret not subscribing. This is also true with ski insurance, as you are unfortunately not immune to having your rented equipment stolen on the slopes or in your holiday accommodation, having to suddenly cancel your trip, or even shortening your holiday... And in such situations, it can be costly if you're not insured.
Additionally, subscribing to Ekosport-Rent ski insurance won’t break the bank: it will cost you €2 per day per rented item for an adult and €1.50 for a child.
In other words, if you come to the mountains for a week with your family, with 2 adult and 2 children's items, you’ll only need to pay an additional €42 in total: a very reasonable price for a more stress-free winter holiday!
Before subscribing, you probably want to know what guarantees are included in the insurance contract. They fall into three categories:
This coverage allows you to insure yourself against the major risks directly related to your ski reservation. For full details of what is covered, exclusions, maximum reimbursement amounts, and deductibles, you can view the insurance contract.
Subscribing to our ski insurance is as simple as can be, as it is offered at the same time as the online booking. All you have to do is tick the corresponding box for each rented item: quick and easy!
The insurance amount is then added to the total payment for your equipment reservation. You can then pay for your rental fully or partially online with flexible payment options, using a credit card (Visa or Mastercard), PayPal, or ANCV vouchers.
You will then automatically be insured for the entire duration of your rental. In case of a claim, you will need to contact the insurer immediately and provide all necessary documents for processing.
In addition to the guarantees offered by the equipment rental insurance, you can subscribe to another type of insurance during your mountain holiday. This is the coverage offered with your ski pass, which may include the following guarantees:
The events covered vary from resort to resort, and there may be several options available. So, take the time to compare contracts before subscribing. Also, check any potential guarantees provided by your credit card, civil liability, home insurance, and your personal accident insurance to avoid duplicates.
